  • Welcome to my blog!

It has always been my intention to be an artist. I've always loved art and creating, and many times over the years I've sat down with pencil and pad in hand to sketch something that inspired me, but just couldn't get it "just right". I knew I had images in my mind, a world to explore and lives to highlight, but it wasn't until I picked up a camera when my first child was born that I found my voice. Photography, and in particular, photography of people, gives my thoughts and visions an outlet. It expresses my interest in the world in my own way, and hopefully inspires others to see life as I do for a moment. Photography strips away the world around us, all other senses are left behind and all that is left is the soul, ready and willing to shine. That alone makes it the most powerful medium I know. I hope my journey with the camera conveys the story I intend, that life is precious and these moments are gone in the blink of an eye.
The photographs I’ve taken of my children are what I hold dearest to my heart. My intension in being your photographer is to create beautiful images for your family to cherish forever.

Chicago Children’s Photographer…Spring Dance

Can I just say that having teens is soooo expensive!  I have just spent the past few days shopping with my 2 oldest children for clothing for their spring dance.  My son needed a new suit, shirt, tie, and belt.  My daughter a dress, alterations, shoes, jewelry, and a hair appointment.  Not to mention that the spring dance is officially called the “turnabout dance”.  So that means that we pay for the dance tickets ($40), dinner for my daughter and her date along with a corsage and boutinierre.  Ouch!!!   $1000 later and I’m broke worn out and wishing that I had spread my children out a bit.  Having two children that are 15 months apart is tough on the pocket book.  I guess I better stop whining and get busy working:)

Now that I’m finished complaining I guess it wouldn’t be a post without including a picture.  I’m going to include a picture from one of last years spring shoots.  I’m so excited that spring is right around the corner and this picture gets me in the mood.  These girls are just beautiful and I just love the colors and bare little toes.

Naperville Teen/Senior Photographer…Mother Daughter Time

As my kids get older I’m constantly looking for things for us to do together.  Just a little bonding time.  Of course it’s easy with my 10 year old because he loves being with me and is willing  to try just about anything.  My 2 teenagers on the other hand are a little more difficult to please.  Doing anything with their mother is just lame (Unless of course I’m spending money on them).    I love spending time with them but finding an activity that isn’t torturous for them isn’t always easy.  I was so thrilled when my Freshman daughter signed up for Photography classes in high school.   It’s so much fun to teach someone your passion especially someone you love.  So yesterday was our first photo shoot together and Wow we had fun!!  My daughter and her BFF stylized the whole shoot themselves and I selected the location.  The girls did a great job and were so creative.  I wish that I was my daughters teacher because an A+ would be handed out for creativity and effort.  Here are some of the pictures that I took with them.  My daughter has to shoot film so we won’t see her results until next week.  I can’t wait!!

Naperville Children’s Photographer…I Need Your Opinion

I need your help!  I have had this picture of my son for 3 years and still haven’t printed it because I can’t decide which one I  like better.  I never have a problem helping others decide what pictures to select but when it comes to my children suddenly I lose all ability.   I’ve decided to put it out there and  let you help me decide.  Please, please, please give me your opinion or this will be one of those pictures that is held captive in my computer forever.  I have too many of those as it is:).  Please help set it free!

Take the black and white and add color to parts of it to emphasize your sons face.

Color. Absolutely color. I like the B&W but he kinda gets lost in the car. In the color one though…he pops and becomes the focal point. Plus that hat and jacket are just too adorable to be left out and the color shows them off as well. LOVE it!

Naperville Chicago Baby Photographer…I Love Baby Rolls!

OMG!!  Take a look at the chub rolls on little Lola!  Could she be any cuter?  I have to say that there is nothing cuter than a naked (prounounced nek-ed in my house:)) baby.  Lola had so much fun having her pictures taken.  She was like a trained puppy showing off her new found skills of “How big is Lola?”  (arms immediately go up in the air), “Yeah Lola” (claps her hands) and “You’ve got to do something about that root beer belly.” (She pats her tummy).  Too cute!!  9 month old babies Rock!
