Look how cute little Miss “S” is in her blue dress! She looks like a little “Alice” from “Alice in Wonderland”. She certainly had a day of adventure like Alice. We did her session at the Arboretum and there was plenty of wonder there. She loved to run and explore. Little “S” even found a cute little toad that was on it’s way to the pond. What a lucky day!

Now that the weather is warming up it’s time for senior portraits again. I just love taking senior pictures! They’re so willing, young and cooperative. I love hearing about what they have planned for their future. Aaaghhhh to be young again!

This particular senior is special to me because I just love his Mom ( she’s such a sweetie and good friend) and he just happens to be a cool kid too. We had a beautiful day Saturday so it made for great pictures. Here’s a sneak peek for my friend Jeremy. Go Denver!!!!

Chicago Children’s Photographer…Spring Dance

Can I just say that having teens is soooo expensive! I have just spent the past few days shopping with my 2 oldest children for clothing for their spring dance. My son needed a new suit, shirt, tie, and belt. My daughter a dress, alterations, shoes, jewelry, and a hair appointment. Not to mention that the spring dance is officially called the “turnabout dance”. So that means that we pay for the dance tickets ($40), dinner for my daughter and her date along with a corsage and boutinierre. Ouch!!! $1000 later and I’m broke worn out and wishing that I had spread my children out a bit. Having two children that are 15 months apart is tough on the pocket book. I guess I better stop whining and get busy working .

Now that I’m finished complaining I guess it wouldn’t be a post without including a picture. I’m going to include a picture from one of last years spring shoots. I’m so excited that spring is right around the corner and this picture gets me in the mood. These girls are just beautiful and I just love the colors and bare little toes.

Naperville Teen/Senior Photographer…Mother Daughter Time

As my kids get older I’m constantly looking for things for us to do together. Just a little bonding time. Of course it’s easy with my 10 year old because he loves being with me and is willing to try just about anything. My 2 teenagers on the other hand are a little more difficult to please. Doing anything with their mother is just lame (Unless of course I’m spending money on them). I love spending time with them but finding an activity that isn’t torturous for them isn’t always easy. I was so thrilled when my Freshman daughter signed up for Photography classes in high school. It’s so much fun to teach someone your passion especially someone you love. So yesterday was our first photo shoot together and Wow we had fun!! My daughter and her BFF stylized the whole shoot themselves and I selected the location. The girls did a great job and were so creative. I wish that I was my daughters teacher because an A+ would be handed out for creativity and effort. Here are some of the pictures that I took with them. My daughter has to shoot film so we won’t see her results until next week. I can’t wait!!

Chicago Professional Photographer…No Regrets

As most of you know we took the plunge into kitty ownership over the holidays. It took us many years to make that decision. We endured the begging and the whining or our daughter for nearly 10 years before we finally caved. We had so many concerns about owning a kitten. Who will clean the kitty litter, will it claw the furniture, will it keep us up all night, will our dog welcome the new kitten? The list goes on and on. Well after all of the years of excuses and all of our concerns, I have to admit we have no regrets. Harlow our new kitten has been wonderful. He adds a little excitement to our lives that we didn’t even know that we were missing and oh…, the love and affection is endless. Here are some pictures of my daughter snuggling with her “baby” over the weekend. Obviously all my concerns were for nothing. Maybe we should have done this sooner?
