I’m going to apologize ahead of time for this very long post, but there is a great reason for it. Some of you may already know about what had happened on Sunday because of my sister’s facebook post. Now that I’ve had a little time to process, I feel like I’m ready to talk about…

There are 300,000 sudden cardiac arrest events that occur like this in the US each year. Only 100,000 of those people receive CPR from a bystander. When bystanders get involved the chance for survival more than doubles. It’s not paramedics with all their fancy equipment and medications that save lives in cardiac arrest, it’s bystanders that save lives. By getting involved and starting chest compressions, you restored circulation of blood to the heart and brain. Without this effort she surely would have died. Thank you for stepping in and being there to help. We need more people like you to be willing volunteers. Push hard, push fast!
